The Healthcare Uprising is a movement of practitioners and individuals growing the infrastructure for whole-person, decentralized healthcare. Not against the system. Toward one that finally works for everyone.
Urge Congress to prioritize the health of moms and babies
Take a 30-second action supporting March of Dimes' federal priorities: access to quality maternity care, coverage for pregnant women and infants, and research on preterm birth and maternal mortality.
Expand Free Doula Insurance Coverage for All Families in Massachusetts
MassHealth already covers doula care for eligible members, and it’s making a BIG difference. Doulas help improve birth outcomes, reduce stress, provide trusted guidance, and ensure people feel supported during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery.
Ask Congress to fund the HEARTS Act
Email your members of Congress asking them to fund the HEARTS Act, which supports CPR training and AEDs in schools. Women are less likely than men to receive bystander CPR — more trained responders closes that gap.
The Senate HELP Committee has advanced the bipartisan Rural Obstetrics Readiness Act (S. 380) to the full Senate floor.
The Rural Obstetrics Readiness Act would use federal grants to help rural hospitals and clinics train staff, buy equipment, and expand telehealth so they can handle obstetric emergencies more safely.
Tell Congress: cover IVF like the medical care it is
Send a letter to your representatives supporting the bipartisan HOPE with Fertility Services Act, which would require employer health plans to cover IVF, IUI, and fertility preservation for people facing medically induced infertility (e.g., from chemotherapy). Coverage is the difference between treatment and a five-figure out-of-pocket bill.
Tell Congress: No one should miss a clinical trial because of cost or zip code
Send a pre-written letter to your members of Congress urging passage of a bill that removes financial and geographic barriers to cancer clinical trial participation. Trials drive the breakthroughs — access to them shouldn't depend on income or location.
Check your registration — health policy is on the ballot
Confirm your voter registration in about two minutes. The officials elected this November will make decisions on research funding, screening coverage, and insurance access.
Tell Congress: servicemembers deserve family-building care
Send a letter supporting the Veteran Families Health Services Act (S. 2801 / H.R. 5492), which would expand DoD and VA health care to cover family-building services — including egg freezing before deployment, expanded IVF access, and adoption assistance.

Learn to advocate for women's health — in 20 minutes
Work through SWHR's "From Awareness to Action" advocacy toolkit — a practical guide to contacting officials, testifying, and telling your story effectively. Women's health research receives under 9% of federal research funding; more trained advocates changes that.
Tell your elected officials: medical research saves lives
Send a message to your elected officials supporting sustained federal investment in medical research. Heart disease is the #1 killer of women, and research funding is what turns that number around.
